The Alpena-Montmorency Conservation District is your local Hunting Access Program (HAP) resource. This is a program from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) that is a financial opportunity for landowners willing to open their land for public hunting. The MDNR leases private lands from landowners who give licensed hunters access to their property, generally on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see the Michigan Hunting Regulations Summary 2023 for more information about HAP rules. MI-HUNT is a mobile-compatible map app with the latest information on public and private lands open for hunting.
